I grew up in a small town in West Virginia, where my dad served on the City Council and one of my brothers was a County Deputy Sherriff. My husband Dave experienced similar community service values, where his dad joined the Wenham Police Department as a Reserve Officer after moving to Wenham almost 60 years ago and then served the community over the next twenty plus years.
Almost 30 years ago, my husband and I had the chance to move back to Wenham and to start our family. After the kids got a little older, I decided to step into community service and began with the First Church Wenham, including being on the Diaconate, the Christian Education Board, and the Special Grants Committee, to name a few. I also became active in the Friends of Buker, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and the H-W Cheerleading Youth Squads.
After Wenham, I served as the Town Clerk for Lynnfield for 6 years, and currently I am the Town Clerk in North Andover.
While in Lynnfield (13K residents), I served on the Town Meeting Study Committee, and assisted with the implementation of poll pads to be used at town meeting check-in as well as electronic voting at town meetings. I was the Town’s website administrator where I would post meeting notices, meeting minutes, and update the department web pages as needed. I also worked with a vendor to implement online dog licensing and online public records requests.
Currently I am the Town Clerk for North Andover (30K residents). In my first year, I successfully ran four elections, two early voting sites, the new vote by mail systems, and an Annual Town Meeting, all during the COVID 19 pandemic. Additionally, I managed the production of the Annual Town Report.
Over the last decade, I coordinated many local, State and Presidential Elections, helped plan and manage many town meetings, as well as keeping up to date on all relevant Massachusetts General Laws, State mandates and requirements, such as Open Meeting Law, State Ethics, and Public Records.

I know my 10+ years of Town Clerk experience, 25 years of municipal service, almost 30 years as a resident of Wenham, and my knowledge of municipal town government will allow me to step in and hit the ground running to coordinate the May Annual Election and to assist with the Annual Town Meeting.
I will bring my knowledge and familiarity to Town Hall to serve the Town of Wenham, with no learning curve required.
Over my career I have come to know that I enjoy public service and working to serve the residents of the communities I have worked in. And on the personal side, over the past year I have come to realize that I miss working in “my hometown” where I started my municipal career 25 years ago.
I view this as a mutual benefit, where my experience will help to better serve the town, while also being an opportunity for me to “come home”.

We are so fortunate to have Trudy Reid in our town. She is so dedicated to help everyone. I urge everyone to vote for Trudy for Town Clerk. We all win.
I wholeheartedly endorse Trudy Reid as Wenham Town Clerk. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. As a new Town Clerk, Trudy has been an amazing resource for me. She is always willing to assist me with any questions and concerns I have as the Town Clerk.
I endorse Trudy Reid for election as the Town Clerk of Wenham!! She is an excellent leader with integrity and years of experience. Wenham will be lucky to have Trudy back at the helm of the Clerk’s Office!
I support Trudy Reid in her quest to be your next Town Clerk. As a fellow Town Clerk I have seen her at conferences for many years where she continues to educate herself in all aspects of her role as a Town Clerk. She is dedicated and passionate about doing her best when performing her duties each day.
You are certainly ready to come in on your first day and know what to do. Wenham certainly needs you!
Thank you for running Trudy! It will take someone with your experience and organizational capabilities to oversee the Annual Town Meeting and run an election less than a month after being sworn in. It will be great to have you back in Wenham.
I so hope this happens and I am looking forward to voting for you. Welcome home.
This is great news. You have tremendous experience as Town Clerk and have demonstrated admirable dedication to the town of Wenham in many capacities. You can count on my vote.
